Herman Rupp Rifle – Lehigh Valley

Known for their sweeping lines and unique decorative elements, the longrifles of Lehigh Valley reached their architectural peak during the American Federal Period, ca. 1790.  Pictured here is a highly developed example, greatly influenced by the Herman Rupp 1793 rifle, with fleur-de-lis carving, an inlayed silver cheek-piece star, and dome lidded patchbox, this rifle would grace any collection.
